Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 30, 2026
Little Apple Pride ("LAP," "we," "us") is a community LGBTQ+ Pride organization in Manhattan, Kansas, operating under the Flint Hills Human Rights Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We know that for many people in our community, privacy is about safety. This policy explains what we collect through littleapplepride.org, why, and what we will never do with it.
1. What we collect
-
Information you give us. When you sign up to volunteer, contact us, buy a ticket, register for an event, or donate, we collect what you enter: usually your name, email, phone number, pronouns (optional), and your message or preferences. Volunteers may also choose to tell us about skills, availability, and any accommodations or allergies we should plan for; only our volunteer coordinators see those details, and we use them only to place and support you.
-
Payment information. Ticket sales and donations are processed by our payment providers (such as Wix Payments, Square and others). We never see or store your full card number.
-
Automatic information. Like most websites, our site (hosted by Wix) uses cookies and similar tools to keep the site working and to show us general visit statistics, such as page views and device type.
-
Social media. Our site shows posts from our Social Media. If you interact with those posts, each social media site has its own privacy policy applies.
2. How we use it
-
To respond to your messages and requests
-
To coordinate volunteers and events
-
To process tickets, registrations, and donations and send receipts
-
To send updates about LAP events, only if you opt in (you can unsubscribe anytime)
-
To understand how people use our site so we can improve it
3. What we will never do
-
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
-
We will never share your identity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or participation in LAP with anyone — including employers, schools, family, or other organizations — without your permission, unless required by law.
4. Who we share it with
Only the service providers that help us run the site and our events (for example, website hosting, ticketing, payment processing, and email). They may use your information only to provide those services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law.
5. Photos and video at events
LAP events are public celebrations, and we and our volunteers may take photos or video for our website and social media. If you'd prefer not to be photographed, let a volunteer or photographer know at the event. If a photo of you is posted and you want it removed, email hello@littleapplepride.org and we'll take it down promptly — no questions asked.
6. Children
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Some LAP events are 18+ or 21+ and are marked that way. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purpose you gave it, or as required for nonprofit, tax, and financial records.
8. Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you emails, by writing to hello@littleapplepride.org. You can also set your browser to block or delete cookies.
9. Security
We use reputable providers and limit access to your information to the volunteers who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take protecting our community seriously.
10. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date.
